The event is being organised by the South African National Committee for ICA. The logo is indicative of the theme for the conference which is <strong><em>\u201cSMART CARTOGRAPHY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT\u201d<\/em><\/strong>. The colours covering the globe are representative of the 17 SDGs, all below Table Mountain \u2013 a natural wonder of the world. The world-class Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), located in the beautiful coastal city of Cape Town has been selected as the main conference venue.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>By 2023 we will be immersed in the 4IR with new ways in which to represent geospatial information, and new ways in which humans interact with and use cartography and geospatial information. This has given rise to new cartography and geospatial information science and management. The topic of \u2018smart cartography\u2019 will be ready for discussion and debate. In 2023 the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and will be at the half-way stage.
