31st International Conference

Endorsed by:

The 19th General Assembly of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) and the 31th International Cartographic Conference (ICC 2023) will be held in Cape Town, South Africa from the 13th to 18th August 2023.

The event is being organised by the South African National Committee for ICA.

The theme is “SMART CARTOGRAPHY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT”. The venue is the world-class Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), located in the beautiful coastal city of Cape Town.

The advent of 4IR and new ways in which to represent and interact with geospatial information has given rise to new cartographic and geospatial information science and management. Join us to discuss and debate the topic of ‘smart cartography’.

By 2023 the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will be at the half-way stage and an important topic for consideration by the international cartographic and geospatial information community at that time, particularly in an African city.
